Ribbon-cutting ceremonies held for three businesses in Medina

MEDINA — Officials from the city of Medina welcomed Finn's Fickle Goods, a local business which sells hand-made leather goods, to the city with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday. Store owner Kristen Dennison said eight years ago she began making bags out of thrift store fabric at her dining room table, and she learned it was something she loves to do. "I've been inspired by many things (and have done) many things throughout the years but when I got to leather bag making, that's where it stuck," she said. Medina's Economic Development Director Kimberly Marshall said many years ago, the Main Street Medina Board said in a survey that one of the businesses it would like to attract to the city was a quality leather goods store. Later on, after seeing Dennison's work first hand, she would let Dennison know when spaces in the city became available. As a result, the store was open during the weekend of the Medina Ice Festival around Feb. 18, she said. The store sells various goods such as bags, wallets, belts and more and has one other employee besides Dennison. "Kristen, we want to thank you so much for taking a chance on Medina (and) bringing your business here," Marshall said. "I know you're going to be a great fit for our community." The Medina store is located at 113 W. Liberty St., and it is Finn's Fickle Goods' second location. The first store opened in Seville in 2019 and will reopen soon after it is restocked. Dennison's goal is to have her store become a household name. "I'd love to become a place that people can rely on coming to for quality products whether that's online or in store," she said. "Regardless of the location, we just have to be there for that need." Crumbl Cookies, 1126 N. Court St. Crumbl Cookies opened its Medina location in February and has hired 45 people. The company currently has more than 500 locations in over 40 states, and it sells a variety of gourmet cookies with flavors rotating out every week. Franchise Owner Nate Tulett said he appreciates the outpouring of support that the location has received since opening. "We were excited to give it a try, but you don't really know what you're in for until you open the doors," he said. "We've been overwhelmed with the support and really just the great resources that are here." The city is excited to welcome Crumbl to Medina, Marshall said. "I've already given Nate a nickname," she said. "I'm calling him 'N-8 the great' because anybody that brings these kinds of cookies to your community has got to be a great person." Tulett said he looks forward to Crumbl being more involved in the community, and he hopes to make the city a little bit "sweeter." "Crumbl has a little motto right and that's to bring friends and family together over the best box of cookies in the world," he said. "Our little spin on that is we just want to be good neighbors and good friends. We love being part of something bigger." Medina Primary Care, 279 E.
