James R. Fanta

James R. Fanta, 69, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022. He was born March 7, 1953, in Berea, to William and Betty (nee Funk). Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating on Lake Erie. He loved vacationing with his family and friends. He retired from Ford Motor Company and was a member of the Medina Fraternal Order of Eagles. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Left to celebrate Jim's life is his beloved wife, Linda (nee Burba); his loving children, Lindsey Fanta and Jamey (Will) Disbrow; his cherished grandsons, Jaxon and Waylon; his mother, Betty; his sister, Debbie (Phil) Ellis; nieces and nephews and other extended family; along with his Briar Ridge buddies. Jim is preceded in death by his father, Bill. The family will welcome friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Waite & Son Funeral Home located at 3300 Center Road in Brunswick, with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. A Celebration of Jim's life will take place with family and friends at a later date.
