Sharon A. Watson King

Sharon A. Watson King, 69, of Mentor and formerly of Lodi, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at her home, following a period of declining health. She was born July 15, 1953 in Aurora, Illinois to James and Molly (Harrison) Watson. Sharon grew up in Lodi and graduated from Cloverleaf High School in 1971. She later received her degree in Education from Ohio Northern University. She was a teacher at Sullivan School and also for the Head Start Program, where she worked and eventually became a Director for Kno Ho Co Ashland CAC. She retired in 2014 after 20 years of service. Sharon resided in Lodi most of her life and was a member of First Baptist Church in West Salem. She is survived by her children, James (Allyson) King, Coy (Jessica) King, Wendy Hawn and Bill (Deanna) Kohl; eight grandchildren, Tristin, Aubrey, Corey, Alex, Wyatt, Jacob, Billy (Ellie) Kohl and Lexi Kohl and one great-grandson, Owen; sister, Alice (Dan) Ingraham and brother, Dave (Connie) Watson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Watson. A Celebration of Sharon's Life will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 129 S. Main St., West Salem. Pastor Jerry Arman will officiate. Private family inurnment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
