Mary E. 'Mitzie' Woods

Mary E. 'Mitzie' Woods, 65, of Litchfield, passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer on Friday, November 18, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born to Wendell and Estel (Cutlip) Gilles on October 25, 1957 in Webster Springs, West Virginia and was a Medina County resident for 46 years. Mary was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed gambling. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren. Mary is survived by her husband of 46 years, John Woods; daughters, Tanya (Timothy) Mosley, Millie Stout, Sherry Gilles, and Justina Gilles; grandchildren, Jasmine, Jace, Allie, Ava, Alayna, Jules, and Major; siblings, Belinda Gilles, Margaret Pierce, Derrick (Karen) Gilles, Diane (Melvin) Dray, Melesa Steigerwald, and Margaret Gum, and her best friend of over 40 years, Sandy Mahoney. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janet Gilles, and her brothers, Randy, Jerry, and Mike Gilles. The family will receive friends and family from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in the funeral home. The Reverend Paul Bomeli of First Christian Church will officiate.
