Bill Hutson defeats Michael Terence Conway in race for the position of Medina County Common Pleas Judge

MEDINA — Bill Hutson was elected as Medina County Common Pleas Judge, according to unofficial election results from the midterm election Tuesday. Hutson ran against Michael Terrence Conway for the seat. Hutson garnered 63.43 percent of the votes, or 39,594 votes. Conway received 36.57 percent of the votes, or 22,827 votes. "The election turned out the way I expected," said Hutson. "It's a joy to know I was successful." Hutson serves as Medina County commissioner. Throughout his legal career he has been the principal of Hutson Law Office Ltd., the law director of Westfield Center and worked for over 30 years with Ohio Farmers Insurance Co. "I'm elated. I'm very happy the people of Medina expressed a vote of confidence in me. I look forward to being a judge," Hutson said. "I thank them for having confidence in me. I will do my best to maintain and fulfill my position." Conway is a trial and appellate lawyer in the state and federal courts with more than 30 years of experience. He has also served as a captain of the U.S. Marine Corps and as a steelworker. "If the voters in Medina County chose Hutson over me, then they got what they want," Conway said. Hutson said that he is thankful that the election is over. He said that it has been very stressful for him. His campaign took a lot of planning and coordination, and he is relieved to say that he is finished with the election season in a successful fashion. Hutson is thankful for the Medina residents that voted for him and looks forward to serving as the county's Common Pleas judge.
