Brunswick, Brunswick Hills and Hinckley police blotter for Nov. 3

Brunswick police Wednesday, Oct. 26 2:29 a.m. — Maiden Court; a woman reported that an unknown female had attempted to enter her residence. Contact was made with Emma Bratton, 20, of Avon Lake, outside of the residence. She was noted to be highly intoxicated. She was issued citations into Brunswick Mayor's Court for disorderly conduct while intoxicated and underage consumption of alcohol before being released to her friend. 10:24 a.m. — Maxwell Boulevard; a raccoon had discharge coming from its eyes and nose, appeared blind and was walking in circles in a backyard. The raccoon could not take flight and was dispatched. The remains were properly disposed of. 2:09 p.m. — Carolyn Drive/Francis Boulevard; one vehicle struck another at a stop sign. Thursday, Oct. 27 1:26 p.m. — Independence Drive; an officer responded to the Medina County Jail and arrested Ryan Demonia, 30, of Strongsville, on an outstanding Medina Municipal Court failure to appear warrant. His original charge was from Brunswick for trespassing. He was unable to post bond and remained in the custody of the jail. 2:53 p.m. — Laurel Road/Maxwell Boulevard; one vehicle struck another after failing to yield. Friday, Oct. 28 12:20 a.m. — Center Road/South Carpenter Road; a vehicle was observed operating with one functioning brake light. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle, and during the stop, a bag containing marijuana was observed in plain view. The vehicle owner, Ayona Robinson, 49, of Cleveland, admitted being in possession of the marijuana. A grinder containing loose marijuana was also located in the center console of the vehicle. She was issued minor misdemeanor citations for the marijuana drug abuse and marijuana drug paraphernalia into Brunswick Mayor's Court. 6:28 a.m. — Independence Drive; an officer responded to the Medina County Jail to serve Jonathan Petty, 27, of Jackson Center, Pennsylvania, a copy of his failure to appear warrant on original charges of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespass. 12:34 p.m. — 1600 block of West 130 Street; a man said he sent a check on behalf of his business for $12,400 to a company in California. The check was stolen by an unknown party and cashed while it was in California. U.S. postal inspectors were contacted and are currently investigating the matter. 6:37 p.m. — Laurel Road; officers responded to Laurel Road for a report of a disturbance. A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend arrived at the residence unsolicited and entered through the front door. She confronted him in the foyer area, telling him to leave. No physical altercation occurred between the two and he later left the scene in his vehicle. 6:55 p.m. — Maxwell Boulevard/Sadie Lane; a skateboard hit a vehicle, which caused damage. Saturday, Oct. 29 3:50 a.m. — Center Road/West 130 Street; a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for expired registration. The operator, Rahsaan Price II, 25, of Cuyahoga Falls, was found to be in possession of marijuana and was issued citations into Brunswick Mayor's Court. Sunday, Oct. 30 5:56 a.m. — 1400 block of Pearl Road; officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers spoke with all parties on scene and found no cause for arrest for domestic violence. While on the scene, officers identified Tyler Burkhardt, 27, of Brunswick, who had confirmed warrants for failure to appear with Strongsville and Brunswick. He was taken into custody and transported to the Medina County Jail without incident. 9:43 a.m. — state Route 303; one vehicle rear-ended another. 11:58 a.m. — Hadcock Road; one vehicle rear-ended another. Monday, Oct. 31 12:13 a.m. — Clearbrooke Drive; while conducting a traffic stop, officers identified the driver as Mayank Maini, 20, of Brunswick, and smelled marijuana. Officers asked him to exit the vehicle and he confessed to having marijuana on him. A search was conducted on the suspect vehicle and no further evidence was seized. He was issued a traffic citation for an improper left turn and a minor misdemeanor citation for marijuana drug possession into Brunswick Mayor's Court. 2:48 p.m. — Magnolia Drive; an officer responded to Memorial Elementary School to take possession of a found debit card. No contact information could be found for the name listed on the card. The card was transported to the Brunswick Police Department and placed in a secured evidence locker. 7:19 p.m. — Laurel Road; several complaints from apartment building residents were received about a woman. An officer talked to her earlier in the evening about causing a disturbance, and it was obvious she was intoxicated. The officer returned after another complaint and observed her having trouble walking due to intoxication. She was cited for disorderly conduct into Brunswick Mayor's Court and asked to remain in her apartment. Tuesday, Nov. 1 5:38 p.m. — West 150 Street; an officer met with the Cleveland Heights Police Department and arrested Omar Davis, 29, of Cleveland Heights, on an outstanding Medina Municipal Court failure to appear warrant. The original charge was from Brunswick for speed. He was transported to the Medina County Jail. 6:35 p.m. — Berwick Drive; animal control was dispatched regarding a raccoon acting oddly. Upon arrival, the raccoon was located walking in circles and not taking flight from fright. The raccoon was moved to a safe location, dispatched, and the remains were properly disposed of. Brunswick Hills police Thursday, Oct. 27 11:24 a.m. — Grafton Road/Substation Road; two vehicles struck each other in the center of the intersection. Saturday, Oct. 29 12:33 a.m. — I-71; a vehicle struck a deer. Monday, Oct. 31 5:20 p.m. — Autumnwood Lane/Woodfield Lane; one vehicle failed to yield while making a left turn and struck another vehicle. Hinckley police Friday, Sept. 23 6:20 p.m. — West 130 Street; officers were dispatched to CVS Pharmacy in reference to found property. The manager said that someone had left a firearm in the men's bathroom, and officers took custody of it. Monday, Sept. 26 3:40 p.m. — Ridge Road; a Brunswick school bus driver arrived at the Hinckley Police Department to report that someone had failed to stop for his bus lights. The driver provided an officer with documentation of the incident as well as a written statement. Further follow-up was needed with the suspect. Friday, Sept. 30 2:49 p.m. — Ridge Road; a woman said that another woman's son was in possession of her daughter's phone. The son was currently staying at his guardian's residence. Through further investigation, the son was found to be in violation of his probation. His probation officer requested Hinckley police seize the phone. Monday, Oct. 3 1:00 a.m. — Arborcrest Drive; officers responded to a residence for a report of domestic violence, and the primary aggressor was transported to the Medina County Jail. Wednesday, Oct. 12 9:59 a.m. — Stony Hill Road/Weymouth Road; one vehicle struck another while failing to yield at a stop sign.
