Ribbon-cutting ceremony held for Warehouse 42 "Grit to Glamour"

BRUNSWICK — Government officials and chamber members of the Northern Medina County Chamber Alliance gathered together for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Warehouse 42 "Grit to Glamour" on Thursday to celebrate its grand opening. Warehouse 42 was established by co-owners Nick Nagorka and Lisa Snyder. One-half of the store has tools for trade work, while the other half features antique home goods. Snyder said the idea to combine the two types of products came from a friend of hers who thought it would be a good idea to partner her and Nagorka because they both had a lot of inventory. "It draws in a wide demographic, and the opportunity presented itself," she said. Many of the items sold on the antique side come from small collections and family sources that she has accrued over time, Snyder said. She sought out the larger items like the tables and cabinets to display the smaller items, and some of those have already sold. "I love people enhancing their homes with USA-made things (and) handmade things," she said. "I'm an artist myself, so I really appreciate other artists' work." Snyder said she has always been a collector and has an eye for design. "Whether it's federal style, Duncan Phyfe, Eastlake or Queen Anne, I love it." she said. "That's why I was kind of tickled about the tradesmen stuff because it takes good-quality tradesmen to make these beautiful pieces of furniture and other home décor." The business has been in the works for a handful of months, and the store had a soft opening about a month ago. Snyder said the community reception has been positive so far, and she feels joy, relief and gratitude to finally have a ribbon-cutting ceremony. "I like to say the curious, the brave and the wanderers have come in and have been like, 'Oh my gosh, I love this place, '" she said. Executive Director of the Northern Medina County Chamber Alliance Debbie Boehmke said Warehouse 42 is already actively involved in the community. For instance, Snyder donated extra clothing to local nonprofit That Place for Teens. "We appreciate that," Boehmke said. "They are chamber members as well, so we appreciate that you helped out that nonprofit." Warehouse 42 is at 1456 Pearl Road, across the street from Brunswick Middle School. "You're probably not going to find these items anywhere else," Snyder said. "We have unique items. We have a wide variety of items for all kinds of interests."
