Brunswick and Brunswick Hills police blotter for Sept. 1

Brunswick Wednesday, Aug. 24 3:56 a.m. — Center Road/Pearl Road; a registration check of a vehicle revealed that the owner, Carly Bennett, 19, of Middleburg Heights, had a suspended driver's license. A traffic stop was conducted, and she was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was issued citations into Brunswick Mayor's Court. 8:03 a.m. — Rocklyn Drive/Laurel Road; one vehicle rear-ended another. 8:21 a.m. — Carquest Drive; one vehicle struck another while improperly passing. 7:40 p.m. — 3800 block of Center Road; Meijer Asset Protection said a female was stealing trading cards valued at $164.94. The suspect fled the area before officers arrived. In reviewing the footage, a male accompanied the female and was complicit in the theft. At the time of this report, the suspects had not been located. Warrants were entered for their arrest. Thursday, Aug. 25 2:23 a.m. — Grafton Road/Pearl Road; a vehicle was observed traveling straight through a turn lane southbound on Pearl Road passing Grafton Road. Contact was made with the owner, Mark Wasylow, 37, of Brunswick, who had the odor of alcohol on him and was observed to have watery eyes. He refused to submit to standard field sobriety tests and was arrested for OVI. He refused to submit to chemical tests and was placed under an administrative license suspension. He was issued a summons into Medina Municipal Court and transported to his residence without incident. 2:45 a.m. — West 130 Street/Center Road; Parma Police Department said they were in pursuit of a vehicle westbound on Center Road near West 130 Street. The suspect driver, Jennifer Diekman, 41, of North Olmsted, had one felony warrant and six misdemeanor warrants. Officers assisted in the pursuit as she traveled north on I-71. She struck multiple Parma Police cruisers before crashing into a parked car on West 11 Street near Abbey Avenue in Cleveland, where she was taken into custody. 4:53 a.m. — Glenbrook Drive; Jeffrey Sine, 63, of Brunswick, was located passed out in the vestibule of his apartment building by another resident. Brunswick Police and EMS responded and assisted him, and he was noted to be voluntarily intoxicated. He was issued a citation for disorderly conduct while intoxicated into Brunswick Mayor's Court. He was then transported to the Brunswick campus of the Cleveland Clinic by EMS. 12:40 p.m. — Miner Drive; animal control was dispatched for a sick raccoon. It was located on the driveway and was seizing. The raccoon was relocated to a safe area and dispatched. Friday, Aug. 26 7:04 a.m. — state Route 303; one vehicle rear-ended another, and the force of that impact caused the car in front to crash into two other cars. 8:55 a.m. — 70 block of Pearl Road; a report of a male stumbling in the area of Pearl Beverage was received. He was located leaning against a car unaware of his surroundings. He was identified as Julian Lesure, 22, of Brunswick, who had a warrant for his arrest on a felony parole violation from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Adult Parole Authority. He was transported to the Medina County Jail. 2:36 p.m. — state Route 303/Hadcock Road; one vehicle struck another in a different lane. 10:45 p.m. — Harvard Avenue; Newburgh Heights police arrested Alfred Roque, on a failure to appear warrant, on original charges of OVI, driving under suspension and no operator's license, out of the Brunswick Police Department. An officer responded to Newburgh Heights, assumed custody of him and transported him to the Medina County Jail without incident. 11:49 p.m. — Sleepy Hollow Road/Pearl Road; a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for expired registration. The operator, Dennis Boswell, 52, of Medina, was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Medina Township Police Department for failure to appear on a disorderly conduct charge. He was arrested, issued citations into Brunswick Mayor's Court and transported to the Medina County Jail. Saturday, Aug. 27 2:06 a.m. — Cherry Lane/Center Road; a traffic stop was conducted on a speeding vehicle. Contact was made with the operator, Darren Tulloch, 22, of Parma, who was found to be in possession of marijuana and was issued citations into Brunswick Mayor's Court. 6:28 p.m. — Center Road; Michael Williams, 38, of Shaker Heights, was arrested by the Oakwood Village Police Department on outstanding Medina Municipal Court warrants. A Brunswick Police officer took custody of him. He was transported to the Medina County Jail without incident. Sunday, Aug. 28 12:15 a.m. — Center Road/I-71; a vehicle was observed traveling east on Center Road and a L.E.A.D.S. check revealed the owner had a suspended license. When contact was made with the operator, Lashawn Willis, 32, of Cleveland, the odor of marijuana was detected inside the vehicle. He was found to have two active license suspensions and an active warrant out of Ashland County Sheriff's Office. Inside the vehicle, an open container of an alcoholic beverage was found, and ownership of the beverage was claimed by the passenger, Christopher Roberts, 31, of Cleveland. Roberts was issued a citation into Brunswick Mayor's Court for possession of an open container in a motor vehicle in transit. Willis was issued summonses into Medina Municipal Court for marijuana drug abuse, driving under suspension and no operator's license, and subsequently turned over to an Ashland County Sheriff's deputy. 9:49 a.m. — Laurel Road; one vehicle struck another, which caused the vehicle to travel off the roadway. 12:38 p.m. — Old Eagle Drive; a sick raccoon was dispatched. 12:57 p.m. — Normandy Drive; a sick or injured rabbit was dispatched. Monday, Aug. 29 2:37 p.m. — Solon Road; an officer responded to the Solon Police Department to arrest Ciara Monet Hunter, 29, of Cleveland, on an outstanding warrant for no driver's license and no lighted back-up lights. She was transported directly to the Medina County Jail, where she was transported without incident. 6:44 p.m. — Turnbridge Court/Cross Creek Drive; a man contacted the Brunswick Police to report that another man allegedly broke his driver's side mirror during a traffic altercation. Police spoke with the suspect, who admitted to being involved in an altercation but denied damaging the mirror. The man who reported this was referred to the Brunswick City Prosecutor's Office for possible charges. 8:35 p.m. — Inner Circle Drive; officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment. A woman hit another woman over the head with a glass bottle, which caused injury. The victim declined to pursue charges. 10:38 p.m. — Bennett Road; an officer responded to the North Royalton Police Department to pick up Darion Carter, 29, of Cleveland Heights, for a failure to appear warrant through Brunswick Mayor's Court. His original charge was not having a driver's license. He was transported to the Medina County Jail. Tuesday, Aug. 30 8:10 p.m. — Bagley Road; an officer responded to arrest Rayshawn Adkins, 29, of Maple Heights, on outstanding warrants for failure to appear on traffic offenses and drug abuse. He was transported directly to the Brunswick Police Department, where he posted bond and was issued a new court date for Sept. 7. Brunswick Hills Wednesday, Aug. 24 6:36 p.m. — Marks Road/Cheney Lane; one vehicle rear-ended another. Monday, Aug. 29 4:28 p.m. — 5000 block of Center Road; officers were dispatched to Sunoco in reference to a female that had been in her vehicle for an extended period of time.
