George E. Matsko

George E. Matsko, 82, of Medina, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022. He was born to George and Helen (Starcovic) Matsko on February 13, 1940 in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. George was a comptroller and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a devout member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, loved to golf, and enjoyed reading. Our father was always impeccably dressed and smelling of Polo (the green bottle) in his younger years but as time went on he chose to be dressed in a very nice golf shirt and a pair of shorts/athletic pants/lounging pants. To honor our father for the viewing a golf shirt and choice of pants/shorts is totally acceptable and if you want wear slippers that's OK too. George is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judith A. (Geyer) Matsko; children, Joseph (Aprille) Matsko, Diana (Robert) Lowe, and Kristen (Michael) Robinson; grandchildren, Kaymin (Kristen) and Avree Matsko, Barrett Matsko, Emily and Sarah Lowe, and LeighAnna and Beau Robinson; nephews, Michael (Launa) and Marc (Melody) Mercurio; three great-nieces and the Dolin family. George was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mary Ann Mercurio, Barbara Matsko, and Helen Matsko and his childhood friend, Lawrence Dolin. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2022 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina, OH 44256. He will be laid to rest privately with Military Honors at Ohio Western Reserve.
