Medina County Solid Waste District removing certain recycling containers The Medina County Solid Waste District will be removing its recycling containers from a few locations throughout the county including the Buehler's locations in the area, along with Weatherstone Park and Friedt Park in Wadsworth. "Both Buehler's locations have been just constant sources of illegal dumping (and) of misuse of the bins," said Lisa Beursken, solid waste coordinator. She said that the Solid Waste District and Buehler's worked to solve the problem by adding more pickup times, having more containers and installing cameras and signage but, people continued to leave stuff behind incorrectly. After the Fourth of July weekend, Beursken said the area was trashed and that was when the decision was made to remove those bins. With the removal of these locations, it eliminates only a few of more than 60 locations the Solid Waste District has for drop-off recycling. Medina County auditor holding coloring contest Help the Medina County Auditor's Office celebrate the 177th annual Medina County Fair by entering a coloring contest targeted to three age groups.The contest, now in its seventh year, is for 6 and younger, 7 to 10 and adults. First place wins $50, second wins $30 and third wins $20. Places will be awarded in the three age categories. This year's fair will take place Aug. 1-7 at Medina County Fairgrounds. City of Wadsworth celebrated the opening of Uniquely Handmade For You The Wadsworth Area Chamber of Commerce and the city of Wadsworth celebrated the opening of Uniquely Handmade For You on 136 Main St. in Wadsworth, on July 1 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Medina's Chett Siefring becomes past president of Ohio Society of Professional Engineers Chett Siefring has become the past president of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers at the organization's 144th annual meeting. As past president, he will help guide the legislative, educational and service activities for the engineering profession in Ohio. He has been a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers since 2009 and is president of OSPE's Northeast Chapter as well as a past president of the Engineers Foundation of Ohio. Siefring, who holds bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Toledo, is the manager of the geotechnical engineering department at Terracon in Parma.
