High school baseball: Wadsworth's John Allen named SL National pitcher of the year

Wadsworth senior John Allen was named pitcher of the year when the All-Suburban League National Conference teams were released. The left-hander was 5-0 with a 0.68 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 37 league innings. He helped the Grizzlies repeat as conference champion. Joining Allen on the first team were senior pitcher Skyler Kries, junior catcher Daniel Hall, sophomore pitcher Jon Byers and sophomore third baseman Kyle Figuray. Senior shortstop Matt Thompson was a second-team selection, while senior Drew Mason and sophomore Ethan Green were honorable mention.
