Jessie Agnes Madden

Jessie Agnes Madden, 92, of Wadsworth, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Legacy Ridge Memory Care Community in Gainesville, Virginia. Jessie was born May 17, 1929, in Cumberland, Maryland. The eldest daughter of Walter and Naomi (Robinett) Perdew, she married Edward Alvin Madden on June 27, 1953. Jessie walked to work at the Ohio Match Factory for many years and was later employed by the Wadsworth City Schools until her reluctant retirement at the age of 81. Jessie was both a faithful and longtime member of the Church of Christ in Wadsworth. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and visiting with friends. Her hobbies included puzzles and word searches. She is deeply missed by her children, Edward Allen Madden of Savannah, Georgia, James (Marianne) Madden of Wadsworth, Mary Foote of Wadsworth and Michael (Jean) Madden of Springhill, Florida; her grandchildren, Tatiana Madden of Islamorada, Florida, Jennifer Madden of Manassas, Virginia and Michael Foote of Wadsworth; her sisters, Joan (Pete) Ahern of Lewisburg, West Virginia and Barb 'Sunshine' (Ron) Files of Carpenters Addition, West Virginia. In addition to her husband, Eddie; Jessie was also preceded in death by her foster parents, Bill and Peggy Weaver of Cumberland, Maryland; sisters, Mary Margaret Martin of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Louise Dawson of Cumberland, Maryland. A celebration of Jessie's life will take place Saturday, May 14, 2022 in Wadsworth (location TBD due to COVID). Memorial contributions may be made to Church of Christ, 236 W.
