Calvin D. Wible

The family of Calvin D. Wible of Naples, Florida is saddened to announce Cal's passing on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the age of 93. Cal is survived by his wife of nearly 43 years, Donna; his children, Becky (Jimmy), Greg (Reiko) and Marty (Don); stepchildren, Patty (Jon), Tim (Val), Jim (Lynelle) and Mark; granddaughter, Megan; step-grandchildren, Erin, Melissa, Tim, Nina, Erica, Clayton, Jake and Luke; and step-great grandchild, Carson. Cal was loved and respected by a wide range of friends and colleagues from many chapters of his life. He played Varsity football, starting as a freshman for THE Ohio State Buckeyes, earning two degrees from THE Ohio State University ('49 MBA '50). Cal was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant/Battalion Motor Officer in the US Army ('50-'52) and after his service, worked and enjoyed a successful 33-year career as the Cadillac, Pontiac & Buick dealer in Medina, Ohio, followed by a very active 'retirement' in Naples, Florida. Among many projects in a lifetime of community service, Wible served for 8 years on the Medina, Ohio School Board and volunteered for 19 years with Habitat for Humanity in Collier County, FL. In 2008 Cal became a key volunteer to exponentially expand Ohio State's alternative spring break program, Buck-I-SERV, where students participate in national and international service trips to learn firsthand about social issues, including homelessness, hunger, the environment, disabilities, literacy and HIV/AIDS.
