Gilman 'Bernie' Duncan, Jr.

Gilman 'Bernie' Duncan, Jr., 60, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022. He was born June 13, 1961, to Gilman B. and Phyllis M. (nee Pierce) Duncan, Sr. in Barberton, Ohio. Bernie worked as a forger at Alcoa Steel and at Country Counter for 20 plus years. He was an Eagle Scout, as are his sons, and an avid fisherman. Bernie enjoyed splitting wood and just being outdoors. He would 'save everything so he could fix anything.' Bernie was a selfless, devoted and humble man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Left to celebrate Bernie's life is his beloved wife, Theresa (nee Victor); loving children, Bernard 'Alan' (Jess) Duncan, Robert W. (Ashley) Duncan and Jacob M. Duncan; cherished grandson, Bernard 'Owen'; his sister, Debbie (Norman) Kreuzer and their children, Michael and Jessica; his father, Gilman Sr. and many extended family and friends. Bernie was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis and his best friend, Bob Rice. Family will welcome visitors on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1800 Station Road in Valley City at 12 Noon with inurnment to follow at St. Martin Cemetery.
