Cleveland Clinic to limit visitation

Visitation protocol has been updated for all of Cleveland Clinic's Ohio locations including Medina and Lodi hospitals, the agency announced Monday. Starting today, one visitor aged 18 or above will be permitted each day for emergency department patients. One visitor 18 or older will be allowed for inpatients but the visitor may now be a different person each day, a departure from policy that required inpatients to choose one person to visit throughout their entire hospital stay. Visitors to inpatients can only enter the building once each day and cannot leave the building and then return for a separate visit later that same day. A different visitor can only replace them the following day, officials stated. Those who have tested positive for COVID-19 are permitted to visit a patient if it has been at least 10 days since testing positive. A visitor who's not fully vaccinated and has been exposed to someone who's tested positive for COVID-19 can visit a patient 14 days after exposure. If the visitor is fully vaccinated and asymptomatic, they'll be permitted to visit once proof of vaccination is provided. Visitation hours will continue to run from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. All visitors must be at least 18 years old, wear a mask at all times, pass a COVID-19 health screening, and sanitize their hands upon arrival.
