Lorain County educator hired as assistant principal at Sharon Elementary

SHARON TWP. — Beth Hall has joined Highland Schools as an assistant principal at Sharon Elementary School, effective Aug. 1. The school board approved Hall's hire, welcoming her during their June 28 regular meeting. In this newly created position due to the increased enrollment at Sharon Elementary, Hall will work alongside staff, led by Principal Katie Kowza. Hall has nearly 15 years of experience in education and administration, including her most recent role as principal at Midview West Elementary School. Previously she served at Midview High School and Lee Eaton Elementary School (Nordonia Hills City School District) each for two years as assistant principal. Hall, who began her career as a social studies teacher at Nordonia Middle School, earned a bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University. She went on to earn a master's degree, principal certificates (elementary and middle) and superintendent's license, all from the University of Akron. Superintendent Catherine Aukerman said she is confident Hall's experience both in the classroom and as a principal will be a great benefit to the district. "She is a motivated and energetic individual who is focused on creating an outstanding learning environment for students," Aukerman said in a statement. "I am certain that she will complement Mrs. Kowza's leadership style, as they work in tandem to positively impact the students, staff and families at Sharon Elementary School."
