Romeo's Pizza helps build home with Medina County Habitat for Humanity

Medina's own Romeo's Pizza is volunteering to help build a home with Medina County Habitat for Humanity. The Romeo's Pizza team was on the build site July 14 and will return to continue building July 28, when six home office team members will be on site helping to construct the home from the inside out. "I am so excited to be a part of building this home for Habitat for Humanity of Medina," Macy Waterbury, Romeo's field marketing specialist, said in a statement. "Before we selected these volunteer dates, I met with Sheryl Boyer, the volunteer coordinator, and Tom O'Connell, executive director, who gave me the grand tour and really helped me understand how important their mission is and how it correlates with our Local Pizza Champion efforts. I knew from that moment, we needed to collaborate to help our communities together." The Local Pizza Champion initiative is Romeo's way of giving back to the community. "Our Local Pizza Champions serve the community with handcrafted excellence, always willing to pay it forward," Mike Rao, chief strategy officer, said in a statement. "They make sure that their team understands the importance of each memorable experience that Romeo's brings to the table. A Local Pizza Champion pursues excellence in everything that they do, while giving back to the people and communities who play a part in reaching that goal." Habitat for Humanity is in the process of building a home on Bryon Drive in Brunswick. "Habitat for Humanity of Medina County brings together businesses, organizations, churches and individuals to offer families a hand up, not a hand out, O'Connell said. "When you partner with Habitat for Humanity you are helping make the whole community stronger."
