Cloverleaf hiring new high school principal, still looking for other administrators

WESTFIELD TWP. — The relatively abrupt departures of three Cloverleaf Schools administrators has left the district searching for replacements and hoping to fill at least one job Friday. Jamie Lormeau, who'd been Cloverleaf High School principal for the past five years and worked in the district since 2010, announced in June she'd be moving on to serve as principal at North Ridgeville High School. Lormeau started with Cloverleaf as assistant principal at the middle school before moving up to principal in that building and then on to high school principal. Cloverleaf Superintendent Daryl Kubilus said the district has narrowed down its search for Lormeau's successor to one candidate but declined revealing that person's name. Friday's special board meeting, during which Kubilus said a principal hire is likely, takes place at 8 a.m. and can be joined virtually at shorturl.at/t2678. "We know who we want for the high school and really just started interviews for the food service director today," Kubilus said. "It's really ended up being kind of a tight timeline. We're talking about a lot of highly tenured people here in our district who aren't going to be with us anymore. We've been very fortunate here that our administrative team had remained intact for several years." In addition to that hiring process, Cloverleaf Middle School Principal Brian Madigan revealed last week that he's leaving the district. That came after food service Director Carrie Beagle told the board in June she would also be moving on. "It is also my desire to hire a food service director on Friday," Kubilis said. "Brian is an outstanding educator and I'm very proud of both Brian and Jamie for the work they've done here at Cloverleaf. I know they'll both be tremendous successes in their new school districts." "Carrie Beagle has been with us for 12 years and she's established herself as a food service leader across Ohio and even nationally," he added. "Legislators have turned to her for her expertise and she really changed the model for us here. She did all of that while turning our program from losing $120,000 per year to breaking even or even making money every year." Kubilus did not put a definite timestamp on finding a new middle school principal. "It's not often that we have this administrative turnover," Kubilus said. "This is an inviting school district, the kind where administrators enjoy the environment that's been created, the kids and the community they live in."
