Debra Lynn Vekas

Debra Lynn 'Debbie/Lady' Vekas passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the age of 59, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Debbie was born January 10, 1962 in Mansfield, the daughter of Carl and Christine Sanders and grew up in an all chaos that being the middle child between two boys can bring. She attended school locally graduating from Madison High School in 1980. Debbie enjoyed reading, beach combing, gardening and crafting, but most of all enjoyed spending time with close friends and family. Always the first to arrive for events and often the last to leave. Debbie was often the life and backbone of each occasion. She will be remembered by friends and family alike as a kind, generous and funny woman who always went above and beyond to bring joy to others. She will be remembered by her children and grandchildren fondly as Lady/Nana, giver of the most love. She is survived by her loving spouse, Charles D Brooks and devoted children: daughter, Jessica Vekas; son, Alex (Alli) Vekas; her mother, Christine Flannery; her brothers, Carl Sanders, Richard (Jenny) Sanders; two grandchildren, Joey and June and sister-in-law, Iris Lynn Acord. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Carl. No services or memorial are being held in honor of her final wishes.
