Polly Anna Lawrence

Polly Anna (nee Klinesmith) Lawrence, 83, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021. She was born September 9, 1937 to the late Eugene and Anna (Stratman) Klinesmith in Bloomingdale, Ohio. During retirement Polly enjoyed completing puzzles, collecting figurines of angels, reading and spending time chatting with friends and family over a cup of coffee. As a young mother she was a Sunday School teacher, active as a girl scout leader and every summer looked forward to teaching at vacation Bible school. For many years, Polly was the smiling face, that greeted customers as they entered the Mr. Good Lube station, a Lawrence family-owned business in Wadsworth. Her greatest enjoyment was when her family would gather to celebrate birthdays, holidays, or just for a picnic. Many of those celebrations were held at her home in the village of Gloria Glens where she and her late husband, David Lawrence, had resided for more than 20 years. Over the years many playful nicknames had been given to Polly by her family, Granny P, Margaret, Polly Anna, Grandma Figaro and Annie Bananie were a few, but she would tell you that just being known as Mom to her three children or Grandma to her eight grandchildren was her favorite. Polly is survived by her children, Judy (Jack) Fickey, Tim (Kim) Lawrence, Patricia (Dennis) Haumesser; grandchildren, Samantha (Bradley) Hughes, Amber (Kenneth) Combs, Nicholas Lawrence (Ashley Gordon), Jarred Grant, Brent Grant and Tim (Allison) Haumesser, Scott (Jamie) Haumesser, Heather (Patrick) McDermott; 23 with one more on the way, great-grandchildren and her brother, Jack Klinesmith. Polly was preceded in death by her husband, David Lawrence; her parents; brothers, Eugene, George, Walter and William Klinesmith and sister, Anita Thornton. The family will accept friends Monday, April 26, 2021 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court Street, Medina, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Polly will be laid to rest at Mound Hill Cemetery in Medina.
