Anna Belicka

Anna Belicka, 96, formerly of Seville, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 after a brief illness with Covid. She was born April 19, 1924 in Urichsville, Ohio. Anna moved to Yugoslavia at the young age of four after her mother's death and was raised by her grandmother. A few years after marrying she returned to the United States in 1956 with her husband and two eldest children, settling in Michigan where she resided for over 40 years; she and Andrew moved to Seville in 1997. Anna was a life-long Lutheran and attended church regularly. She was a homemaker, her family was everything to her; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy! Anna enjoyed cooking and baking and delighted in hosting large, family gatherings over the years, the meal always center stage, with homemade ethnic foods. No one ever left her home hungry and always sent with leftovers to enjoy later. Proud of her Slovak heritage, she raised her children with many traditions. She had a 'green thumb' and enjoyed gardening wherever she lived, often giving plants and perennials away to others saying, 'don't thank me, just let it grow'. While living in Michigan in her younger years, she cleaned houses for many years for families who treated her as part of their family. She is survived by her daughter, Anna Morris of Novi, Michigan; son, John (Christin) Belicka of Seville; grandchildren, Karen Belair, Andy Belicka, Nathan, Isabel and Nicholas Belicka and great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Harper. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 70 years, Andrew; her son, Andrew J. Belicka and son-in-law, Scott Morris. There will be no funeral service at this time due to Covid restrictions.
