Judge Christopher Colliers swears in elected officials for new terms

MEDINA — Four Medina County elected officials were sworn in Wednesday by Medina County Common Pleas Judge Christopher Collier at the Medina County Courthouse. Those elected officials included Treasurer John Burke, Coroner Dr. Lisa Deranek, Recorder Joe Salzgeber and Clerk of Courts David Wadsworth. Burke, Deranek and Wadsworth, all Republicans, ran unopposed for reelection in the Nov. 3 general election. Salzgeber, who was appointed in January 2019 to complete an unexpired term as county recorder, defeated his Democratic opponent, Lori Henry, in the general election to win a full term. Collier swore in all four elected officials using a Bible that has been in Burke's family since 1707. In attendance to witness the brief noon ceremony were Common Pleas Judge Joyce Kimbler, coroner's investigator Barbara Kinney, Deputy Clerk of Courts Jeneen Craska, Deputy Recorder Nancy Joy and Deputy Recorder Tammy Miller.
