Single-car crash sends driver to hospital in York Township

YORK TWP. — A driver sustained injuries Thursday after reportedly rolling his car over twice on Elyria Road in York Township. Responders at the scene said those injuries did not appear to be life-threatening but declined to release further information on the male driver. At approximately 2:46 p.m., the Erhart/York Township Fire Department was called to the scene and found the car, a silver Kia Forte, heavily damaged just north of the intersection of Elyria Road and Station Road. A witness account stated that the car was traveling east on Elyria when it suddenly veered off the road and rolled over two times, said officers. The vehicle was missing both of its front tires and multiple airbags had been deployed. It was not made clear what caused the driver to lose control. The driver was treated at the scene before being transported to Medina Hospital. Additional responding agencies spotted on-scene included the Medina County Sheriff's Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol.
