Serpentini Chevrolet comes to Medina County

MEDINA TWP. — Serpentini Auto Group announced Thursday it had acquired three Pat O'Brien Chevrolet dealerships, including Medina Township's location at 3880 Peal Road. The move comes in conjunction with partner Ken Ganley and was already visible on Pearl Road by Thursday afternoon with the dealership posting signs letting customers know about the change. Serpentini also acquired Pat O'Brien dealerships in Westlake and Willoughby, which will add to existing Serpentini dealerships in Strongsville, Orrville, Tallmadge, Berea and Cleveland. Pat O'Brien Chevrolet will maintain ownership of its Vermilion location. With the new acquisitions, Serpentini is now the largest Chevrolet dealership group in Ohio. "Medina's a great area," said Bob Serpentini, president and founder of Serpentini Chevrolet. "It's an area we want to reach out into because the closest we've been before this is Strongsville and Orrville. When this chance came up, we knew it was a perfect fit and it's worked out perfectly. We're very happy to become a part of this community." In 1980 at age 22, Serpentini because the youngest ever first-generation Chevrolet dealer in the country. Serpentini said that 15 to 20 sales and service department jobs are expected to be offered on Pearl Road within the next six months. He added that access to vehicle inventories under his group's umbrella will allow for expanded options in Medina. "Sales and service will be the two areas with the most opportunity," he said. "Based on what we normally have with our staffing, it's something we'll be moving forward with very soon." The owner said he already had spoken with Medina Mayor Dennis Hanwell and plans on contacting local school districts sometime within the next week. Serpentini regularly partners with districts though initiatives such as car donations and stadium sponsorships. Plans already are being put together to donate a car to a local school district that will be raffled off, which will be one of 10 to 13 the group gives away for such events each year, Serpentini said. "We are very, very active in our communities," he said. "This is a place we want to be and want to be integrated into. We're about the customer and have fabulous employees. To sell one car doesn't do you any good. You want a relationship. I've been a Chevy dealer for 40 years and started as a lot boy in 1973.
