Jack L. Keehn

Jack L. Keehn, 85, formerly of Medina, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 in Walhalla, South Carolina. He was born December 8, 1933, to Ruby Graber Keehn and Russell E. Keehn in Canton. Jack had been cared for in his son's home (Grant) for the past two and a half years as he suffered from Alzheimer's disease.Jack is survived by his second wife, Patricia Dunn Keehn; his children, Rene' Null, Kay Knapp (Kevin), Grant (Jenny) and Corey (Lisa); stepchildren, Kevin and Kathy. In addition, Jack has 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Jack loved aviation! At 16, he had his private pilot's license before he could drive a car. At the time, he was the youngest person in Ohio to hold a private pilot's license and he flew for companies such as Republic Steel and Glidden. Jack continued his career in the FAA, Federal Aviation Administration, working in air traffic control. Jack was a proud member of the EAA, Experimental Aircraft Association and spent 10 years building a Stitz Playboy plane, which he loved flying on the weekends with his children.Mr. Keehn graduated from Massillon High School in 1951 and he attended Akron University. He was a member of the Medina Masonic Lodge, QB (Quiet Birdmen) and the Medina United Church of Christ, Congregational. Jack was an avid tennis player, roller skater and a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan.Memorial services will be held at a later date.
