Thanksgiving meals and happenings

Holiday community meals Medina County families, residents and veterans interested in a holiday meal can share Thanksgiving Day at the locations to follow: n 7:30-11:30 a.m., Yours Truly Restaurant, 3725 Medina Road, Medina, will host a free pancake breakfast today. Pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice will be served free of charge. Donations will be accepted and all proceeds from the event will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Medina County. Call (330) 722-4494 for more information. n Noon, St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, 929 Pearl Road, will host its Thanksgiving community meal today. For more information, call (330) 460-7300. n Noon to 3 p.m., The Medina VFW Post 5137 Thanksgiving dinner will be at 3916 Pearl Road, Medina Township. Dinner is free and open to the public. Turkey and all the trimmings will be served. There will be a surprise visit from Santa Claus. Carryout orders are available upon request. Holiday closings Brunswick, Medina and Wadsworth city halls will be closed Thanksgiving Day. Brunswick and Wadsworth city halls also will be closed Friday. Residential rubbish won't be collected on the holiday. Thursday and Friday pickups will be delayed a day. All post offices are closed today in observance of the Thanksgiving Day Federal Holiday. Only Express Mail will be delivered today. Normal mail delivery operations resume Friday and post offices will re-open. Holiday weather The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the area until 4 p.m. Thursday. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Today, there is a chance of rain and snow showers before 10 a.m., then a slight chance of rain and snow showers after 3 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 38. Northwest wind 11 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
