Frank James Koci

Frank James Koci, 80, of Seville, fought the good fight, kept the faith and finished the race Monday, October 14, 2019 at Northwestern Healthcare Center in Berea, following a nearly nine year battle with Parkinson's/Lewy Body Dementia. He was born in Cleveland, May 25, 1939, to Charles and Nettie (Linhart) Koci. Frank graduated from John Adams High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army at the 10th Evac Hospital in Wurzburg, Germany. He was a chemical salesman for over 30 years. He was a faithful member of the C&MA church for decades and also attended Rosh Pinah Congregation, in Bath, for many years as well. He contributed to the community through service through the Kiwanis (Brunswick).In his spare time, he pursued hobbies that were his passion, such as auto bodywork, home improvement/construction, and yard work. He also had a passion for building lighthouses and some of the best playhouses, toys and crafts for his beloved children and grandchildren. Frank was a hard worker and a wonderful provider for his family. He was generous with his time, skills and belongings, knowing it would make someone else's life easier. He fully committed himself to all he did and had a passion for making things better.He is survived by his high school sweetheart, wife of 61 years, Elizabeth (Butterfield) Koci and children, F. David Koci (Lisa), Kathryn Davis (Kent), Robert Koci (Laura); 11 grandchildren, Kyle Davis (Katie), Joshua Koci (Cassie), Kristian Davis (Ashley), Anntonette Koci, Marissa Koci (Jahmez), Bryce Koci, Grace Koci, Jeremy Koci, Korban Davis, Kendall Davis, Isabella Koci and five great-grandchildren, Weston Koci, Kaydence Davis, Sawyer Koci, Kaleb Davis, Victoria Koci and his sister, Marie Koci.Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nettie Koci and his son, Francis.The family of Frank Koci would like to thank Northwestern Western Healthcare Center, of Berea and Crossroads Hospice of Cuyahoga County and the V.A., for their dedicated care of Frank.A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019 at noon at Living Hope C&MA church of Medina, 6288 Wooster Pike, Medina, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 p.m. With a light lunch following.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice & Palliative Care, 9775 Rockside Rd., Suite 270, Valley View, OH 4421.Arrangements were handled by Adams-Mason Funeral Home & Crematory/The Cremation Society of Ohio.
